Benefits of Membership
In addition to the advocacy and community provided by NCACTE members, members in good standing with their institutional, associate, or individual dues may be eligible for the following:
consideration in the NC Student Teacher of the Year (STOY) awards
free attendance to NCACTE webinars
membership on NCACTE committees/executive board (including our affiliated NCTEAN and ECCA Special Interest Groups)
a reduced member-only rate for in-person Fall Forum Conferences
support in NCACTE advocacy efforts
networking with colleagues across the state on similar issues
Dues Information
How are dues determined?
NCACTE’s dues structure is based on enrollment as reported in the NC EPP Performance Report and follows the AACTE/ATE models. Enrollments are reassessed every two years. A copy of the fee structure is included on this website.
Existing EPP Institutional Members (Annual Renewal)
EPPs with current institutional memberships in good standing will receive an invoice by May 15 for dues for the next academic year. The dues schedule listed below is based on enrollment as verified through DPI. All payments are due by September 1 for the academic year. Invoices are sent electronically to emails on file provided by the EPP. The institutional representative list is open for updating from May 15-July 15 annually (see additional information below).
Existing Associate Members (Annual Renewal)
Associate members with current memberships in good standing will receive an invoice for annual dues of $250 by May 15 for the next academic year. All payments are due by September 1 for the academic year. Invoices are sent electronically to emails on file with the EPP provided by the associate member.
Existing Individual Members (Annual Renewal)
Individuals with current memberships in good standing will receive an invoice for annual dues of $100 by May 15 for the next academic year. All payments are due by September 1 for the academic year. Invoices are sent electronically to emails on file with the EPP provided by the individual member.
New EPP Institutional Members or Renewing Lapsed Members
Institutional Membership is only available for organizations actively enrolling students in the EPP; Associate Membership is available for institutions or organizations that wish to pursue membership in NCACTE but are not currently enrolling students as an EPP. Institutions seeking first-time membership or renewing lapsed membership with NCACTE should complete the form above by clicking “Join NCACTE!”. Once membership has been approved by the NCACTE Board, an invoice for the organization will be generated and sent electronically. A non-refundable, one-time joining (or rejoining) fee of $200 is required for Institutional Membership and will be included in the invoice.
New Associate Members
Any individual or individuals representing an entity with a vested interest in education or the preparation of educators such as a public or private business, foundation, public interest group, governmental agency, or learned society may apply for Associate Membership. Associate members do not have voting privileges, but are included in all NCACTE activities, communications, webinars, conference meetings, advocacy work, etc. Associate Members seeking first-time membership with NCACTE should complete the form above by clicking “Join NCACTE!”. Once membership has been approved by the NCACTE Board, an invoice for the individual will be generated and sent electronically. The invoice will include a one-time $100 joining fee for new members in addition to the annual dues of $250.
New Individual Members
Individual Membership is available to any single person interested in NC educator preparation who is not a member via their institution or educational organization. Individuals seeking first-time membership with NCACTE should complete the form above by clicking “Join NCACTE!”. Once membership has been approved by the NCACTE Board, an invoice for the individual will be generated and sent electronically. The invoice will include a one-time $100 joining fee for new members in addition to the annual dues of $100.
Payment Procedures
Payment by credit card via Square is the only option for payment of NCACTE dues. A link to pay NCACTE dues will be included in the invoice email to the EPP. Please remit your institutional dues by September 1. Any EPPs that have not paid by September 1 will be considered delinquent and ineligible for STOY awards and other benefits of EPP membership.
Please note: only organizations or individuals receiving official invoices from NCACTE are considered approved by the NCACTE Board/organization.
Selecting Institutional Representatives – complete by July 15 annually
It is very important that EPPs review their list of the institutional representatives annually. These institutional members cast votes on key issues. A link to the Institutional Representatives will be included in the annual invoice email to the EPP. Please allow ONE PERSON to update the document for your EPP.
NCACTE Institutional Dues
(Enrollment includes undergraduate and graduate candidates)
Enrollment of 299 students or less: $350
Enrollment of 300 to 699 students: $650
Enrollment of 700 to 999 students: $950
Enrollment of 1,000 students or more: $1,250
Members of NCACTE are encouraged to contribute information about the history and development of the organization that can be recorded on this website. Please send an e-mail message to info@ncacte.org. Relevant documents, photographs, copies of past proceedings, and other information will be accepted with appreciation, and will help to create a history of the organization as this website continues to develop.
